Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any question about vehicle shipping, read on bellow for answers to some of the most popular ones we’ve already been asked. If you can’t find an answer, feel free to contact us.

How should I prepare my vehicle for transport?

It's essential to prepare your car before sending it off for shipping. Give it a good clean both inside and out. Personal items should be removed from the car or secured to prevent them from getting damaged during transport or causing damage to the car. Also, make sure the gas tank is only filled up to one-quarter of the way. To cover all bases, you can snap some pictures of the car from different angles (you will do this with the driver on pickup anyway).

How much does a car shipping service cost?

The cost of auto shipping depends on several factors, including

  • The distance of the transport
  • The pickup and destination points (popular routes are cheaper)
  • The type of transport open or enclosed
  • The size and weight of the vehicle
  • Whether you need an expedited or guaranteed shipping
  • Whether the car is operable or not
  • How many cars do you ship
  • How much your broker wants to earn (we do only a 10% fee)
As a rough estimate, you can pick about $300-500 for short shipping and $1000-1500 for long distances.

Can I put extra personal items inside my vehicle when shipping it via an auto transport company?

It's generally not recommended to put personal items inside the vehicle during transport, as they are not covered by insurance. However, you can put in luggage or a case of up to 100 lbs for free, placed in the trunk, or in the cabin (below the window line). You will have to pay a dollar for each additional pound in case you need to ship more luggage.

Can I transport an vehicle that isn't operable?

Yes, you can easily transport an inoperable car, if it rolls and steers. That will cost you a little more than an ordinary shipment. If your car doesn’t roll & steer, we have to ask you to organize the loading and unloading process.

Does it cost more to ship a pickup truck than a regular car?

Car shipment prices highly depend on dimensions and weight of the vehicle. If you need to ship your truck, that will cost you a little more than a regular car, as most trucks are much bigger and heavier than ordinary vehicles. Please have a chat with our pro advisers to learn more details about how to ship a truck.

What if my vehicle is damaged during auto transport?

We do our best to hire only the best drivers and ensure your car transportation is hassle free. However rare incidences are inevitable. The driver will inspect the car with you at the delivery point. Please document any damages you notice. The insurance will cover it.

How do I pay for services?

You are free to choose the payment option that works best for you: any major credit card, online payment or cash. We will only ask to pay the 10% fee on once the car is picked up. You can pay the rest on delivery in cash or by card.

Is it better to find a carrier vs working with a broker?

It may seem that finding a carrier is a better option, than working with a broker. However, working with a carrier directly is a tough experience due to the drawbacks this option has. You can find more information in theComparison section on this topic. To be short, carriers themselves prefer working through brokers as that’s more convenient and is regulated by law. Usually working with a broker means additional fees for you. But our innovative solutions in the industry make us the best option to find a carrier.

How long is a car shipping quote good for?

It depends on the pickup day you have chosen. We would advise you to book your order as soon as possible to ensure you have the quote you like.

Can you guarantee a pick-up or delivery date?

The regular shipment service doesn’t guarantee the pick-up or delivery date. However, if you are in a hurry, or need a guaranteed pick-up date, please check out our Expedited and guaranteed shipment service.

Can I change my pick-up date?

We understand that your plans may change in a moment and do our best to be as flexible as possible for you. You can change the pick-up date of the shipment that’s already booked, but please note, that the transportation fee may change depending on the market (it may both go up or down).
